Faculty Athletic Representative

Mid-Continent Conference

Division I-AAA

The role of the Faculty Athletic Representative at Centenary College includes but is not limited to the following activities:

Involvement in the maintenance of the welfare of student athletes,

Periodic review of information that relates to the academic well-being of student athletes to ensure that the athletes who attend Centenary College thrive academically,

The monitoring of academic services to ensure that they are available to student athletes,

Service as an advisor to Centenary College’s President involving intercollegiate athletic matters,

Service as an advisor to the Director of Athletics,

Service as a regular committee member on Centenary College’s Intercollegiate Athletic Committee,

Service as a member of search committees for head coaching vacancies,

Being available to discuss matters of academic concern with student athletes,

Periodic conducting of exit interviews of student athletes,

The annual administration of coaches’ certification examination,

Involvement in the investigation and reporting of major and secondary rules violations,

Involvement in the preparation of various NCAA assessment reports,

Participation in the preparation of requests for NCAA waivers or appeals,

Periodic attendance at national meetings, FARA forums, and regional compliance seminars,

Other duties as assigned by the President of Centenary College.
