Neumann College FAR Job Description

 

FACULTY ATHLETICS REPRESENTATIVE

 RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Certify the eligibility of all Neumann student-athletes according to the academic standards of Neumann College and the NCAA;

• Function as a mentor to student-athletes and facilitate the development of additional faculty/student-athlete mentoring relationships;

• Work with the Vice President for Student Life to assure collaborative student athletic programs;

• Attend Athletic Department staff meetings;

• Act as a liaison between Faculty Senate/faculty and the Athletic Department;

• Represent the Athletic Department to other campus constituencies and in the local community when appropriate;

• Represent the College President at intercollegiate athletics meetings and conferences when appropriate (eg PAC,  NCAA);

• Function as a consultant to the athletic director on compliance and student-athlete welfare;

• Be available as an advisor to SAAC;

• Be actively involved in appropriate NCAA and FARA activities. (ie. Attend FARA Fall Forum, NCAA Convention)
